Design
1.Inspiration
Firstly, before sketching I looked for three inspirations on pinterest.
2.Ideas and sketches
Ideas:
1. The oceans go from deep to shallow, from dark blue to light blue. The colours are getting brighter.
fig.2.1 colour gradient
2.The bottom of the ocean is full of plastic rubbish.
3.Those swimming from the depths to the shallows are among the planet's top 10 endangered sea creatures featured in a photo story published by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on 8 June 2015 in conjunction with World Oceans Day.
The belugas in the picture are kept at the aquarium in Vancouver, Canada.
The main threat to polar bears is the decrease in Arctic ice packs caused by global warming.
Blue whales, deep-sea giants, are also facing extinction.
fig.2.2 beluga
The main threat to green sea turtles is plastic waste.
fig.2.3 green sea turtle
The main cause of extinction is overfishing.
fig.2.4 Pacific bluefin tuna
Global warming and ocean pollution are the main reasons why Galapagos penguins are close to extinction.

fig.2.6 polar bears
fig.2.7 blue whale
Both species of manta ray — the reef manta ray and the giant manta ray — are listed as vulnerable species.
fig.2.8 manta ray
several species of sea lion are at risk. The stellar sea lion, which inhabits Pacific coasts in the Northern Hemisphere, is considered by international authorities to be near-threatened

Then I drew 3 sketches of my idea on procreate.
3.The final design

Explanation:
The prototypes of the biological symbols in the picture are the world's top ten endangered marine organisms. Human overfishing and marine debris may weaken their ability to provide key ecosystem services and cause the loss of biodiversity. The theme of this poster is "Beautiful and Endangered". The sea above is getting brighter and brighter, highlighting the cleanliness of the water: while the dark underwater scene below is composed of plastic garbage and a hand, as if to draw some creatures into it. A sharp contrast.
The aim is to raise awareness about the issue of endangered marine life. Many people lack understanding of the living conditions of marine life. Posters with simple and easy-to-understand designs and outstanding visuals can put these issues in the public eye and arouse people's attention and concern for endangered species.
Contrast: Contrast is used in design to highlight the differences between different elements to attract attention and create visual focus. This poster design uses the gradient of color and the size of the circle to highlight the circle from large to small and the color from dark to light to create a visual center.
Symbol: Symbols are used effectively, with the fishing nets and fish representing human intervention and the consequences of overfishing, while the fish represent the marine life affected by these actions.
Words and Images: The words “Beautiful and Endangered” complement the images. The design combines text with two contrasting scenes presented in visuals, reinforcing the message through a combination of text and image. Although the upper and lower parts of the image are in sharp contrast, their message is unified.
week6
feedback:
I showed Mr. Charles the sketches I had drawn and talked about my ideas and the inspiration I had found, and then the teacher asked me to start creating my own work.
