REFIECTION
Experience:
When I chose to study this major, I knew that typesetting language or text is the most basic and important content of this major. Therefore, it is important for me to learn how to better typeset and express text, including conveying the content to readers. I have been studying design and art, and I am very happy that the experience this semester did not disappoint me, and I learned a lot. He is the most challenging and has also allowed me to improve a lot of professional abilities. Especially in the third task, we have to create our own fonts. This is very helpful for me personally. I never knew the process of fonts from construction to exporting as font files, which gave me a whole new understanding. I am very grateful to Teacher Max for helping me in this process. Every time I asked a question, he would patiently answer my questions and give me feedback, which made me better understand the professional content and pay attention to some details, so that I can better understand the requirements of this major. In general, I am very grateful for this semester's study, which has made me make more progress.
Observation:
In these 14 weeks, I found that I would pay more attention to the differences and characteristics between fonts in my daily life, and I would find some text typesetting problems or professional content, and analyze and correct them, which I think is very interesting. I have always believed that typography is important because in our daily lives, whether it is books, flyers, posters, or online shopping, including the layout of web pages, typography plays a huge role.
Discovery:
From the beginning of my contact with typography, I only cared about the harmony between fonts and images, including whether the content conveyed was accurate, and the classification between title content. But after 14 weeks of study, I know the details of typography and some design rules. As long as very small adjustments are made, the layout of the entire page will be different, such as the tilt angle, the text content corresponding to the main title and subtitle, and the rules of font design. For me, these are all supplements to the professional knowledge I know, and I am very happy to learn new knowledge.
